Art Camp "Modernist" for Young Artists Overview: Are you ready to unleash your inner Picasso? Buckle up, buttercup, because we've got a 5-dayaganza of modernist art history, art techniques, critical thinking, and artistic autonomy! And if that's not enough, we'll throw in some, writing, performance, and found objects to keep things interesting. Plus, we'll teach you how to navigate art market like a pro! Get ready to paint your dreams red - or blue, or green, or whatever color you fancy! Date: 29/07/24 to 02/08/24 - 9:30 to 13:30 Age category: 9-11 years old Price: €75 per week Materials: Studio provides Clothes: Wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on. Break time: 11:30 - Bring a lunch. Phone: Alowed - Bring your phone if you have. What to Expect: Art History and Context in practice: Learn about the major movements in modernist art history and the artists who shaped them. Understand the context and significance of these movements. Art Techniques and Fundamentals: Gain hands-on experience with essential art-making techniques and fundamental rules that apply across various niches. Critical Thinking and Vocabulary: Develop skills in assessing and critiquing both their own works and those of others. Learn the vocabulary and guidelines necessary for meaningful artistic evaluation. Art School Structure: Experience a structured environment similar to art school, where autonomy is key. Participants can pursue their artistic interests as long as they can justify their choices artistically. Activities: Painting: The primary medium used throughout the camp, with ample opportunities to experiment with different styles and techniques. Multimedia Exploration: Engage in writing, performance, and using found objects. Activities will include games, reenactments, videos, and listening sessions. Creative Freedom: Enjoy a supportive space to sit down and create with all necessary materials provided. Final Day - Art Market and Exhibition: Curate and Construct: Participants will curate and construct their own group exhibition, showcasing their works for parents to come and enjoy. Goals: By the end of the camp, participants will have a deeper understanding of modernist art, improved technical skills, enhanced critical thinking abilities, and firsthand experience in curating an art exhibition. This camp is not just about creating art but also about understanding and situating oneself within the broader artistic community.
